Bon Iver- Flume (Kulkid Remix)

I am blown away by this remix. I mean, it’s good, but that’s not what I mean. This remix makes something from, essentially, nothing. Bon Iver’s original is a classic acoustic singer/songwriter’s ballad. It’s brooding, minimalist, and personal. The track is just guitar and vocal. Nothing else. Without a doubt, Bon Iver’s vocal is gorgeous. That alone would make a track, and it sort of does here. That’s what makes Kulkid’s remix so damn impressive. To be honest, it’s not really even fair to call this a remix at all. First thing’s first, Kulkid adds a beat. Revolutionary, I know. But actually, the beat he adds is perfect, it’s a simple clap track that allows the guitar and the vocal to remain the focus of the track. Of course, it wouldn’t be a minimalist house track without some vocal muffling and some fades, but the track stays relatively honest and true to the original, despite being a complete overhaul. I really like this one, and I hope you guys do too! Listen to them both below and comment with your thoughts!
